Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and demanded to quit. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he walked away. He later chose to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss tweaked the plot and gave his character new responsibilities. That change led Harris decide to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the character.
