Chelsea Football Club have reached a club-record £117 million deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Middlesbrough will retain 20% of any future profit from the sale.
The transfer has prompted fears over its impact on playing time for Enzo Fernández. Rogers’ move comes after Chelsea’s summer spending push under new ownership. The club is also tracking Maxence Lacroix, Jonathan Rowe, Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho.
Other clubs circling reinforcements include Arsenal, which is looking at free-agent John Stones after William Saliba’s World Cup injury prompted a reshuffle in the defence staff.
