Roy Moore Loses Supreme Court Bid to Restore Defamation Ruling

The US Supreme Court has rejected Roy Moore's appeal to reinstate an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court turned down the appeal on 5 October 2026, ending Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute stems from a campaign advertisement. Moore had argued the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's decision not to hear the appeal leaves the lower court outcome in place against him.
