Qantas paid £270 million each for a batch of six Airbus A350 airliners. The order starts non-stop routes from Sydney to London and New York in 2026. The first aircraft reaches service by mid 2026. Qantas will then retire older planes before the new aircraft carry passengers. Airlines based in Singapore, Dubai and Doha already link the same cities nonstop this year.
