A loud patron kept hurling personal insults at Franklin’s wife, which wouldn’t quiet down. Members of Franklin’s team pleaded with the crowd to settle everything, yet the shouting refused to die. That’s when police decided to step in and hold the singer for a short while.
The organisers swiftly cancelled the rest of the evening’s performances. They said the remaining acts could not continue. Guests moved out quietly as other scheduled events across the city carried on as normal.
