The Scottish Government has committed a £14m funding boost to support the renovation of Glasgow's People's Palace and Winter Gardens. Total budget requirements for the museum work now pass £50m. The historic site set to re-open the Glasgow museum and gardens has remained closed for a long time.

BBC and The Herald indicated the venue is expected to stay closed until 2029.
