Dollarama issued a recall of Heavenly Spices garlic powder in Canada after tests carried out found harmful bacteria.
Health warnings released say it may cause food poisoning if eaten.
Customers are advised to stop using it and take leftovers back to stores.
The recall covers each packages sold at Dollarama outlets across Canada just recently.
Dollarama has described it a precaution measure and did not disclose how many units were affected.
The issue comes after comparable problems in the United States earlier this year.
