Aryna Sabalenka said Wimbledon’s rule that bars dogs from player areas is excessively tight.
She said the ban distresses her and is unjust to players who own pets.
She asked the tournament to change the rule to respond promptly.
The ban affects the whole tournament throughout the week, each day, stopping players from having dogs nearby, which many find restrictive.
Sabalenka made the remarks on 2 July 2026, after the championships began.
She told officials the rule is emotionally painful and pleaded for dogs to re‑enter the player zones.
