Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, marking a return to theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run set to run until July 2027.
The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was reported by Playbill and Deadline. The move marks a significant moment for a performer who has spent years in front of a camera.
After his Broadway commitment wraps up, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, slotting the Marvel project in after his stage work wraps.
